Diversey is a worldwide leader in the area of industrial and institutional cleaning and hygiene.  Within the Utrecht RD&E department continuous research and innovation is occurring to meet the needs of both national and international customers.  Our research takes place within multi-disciplinary teams and through different disciplines in order to generate products that meet the unique needs of our customers. 

The Kitchen, Fabrics & Personal Care group plays a key international, cross-functional role in innovation and development.  The group aids in the advancement of the Diversey business through optimization of cleaning and disinfection systems.

The key responsibilities for this role will be focused on supporting multiple project teams.  Therefore, the technician should be flexible and versatile to work within multiple scientific disciplines ranging from microbiology to product formulation and product test design.  For Diversey we are looking for a:

General Technician

For Kitchen, Fabric and Personel Care Group

Tasks

§   Evaluation of cleaning performance and anti-microbial capabilities of new and existing products.

§   Product formulation, physical test method execution and testing of routine microbiological tests and the interpretation of results.

§   Carry out testing against existing microbiological and chemical test methods and aid in the development or improvement of test methods and laboratory procedures.

§   Carry out work in a safe and well organised manner and in accordance with ISO laboratory norms.

§   Develop a working knowledge about Diversey business areas and Diversey products and chemistries.

§   Regular reporting of results and use of Software tools and internal Diversey reporting systems.

Demands / Wishes:

§   MBO level

§   Background and working knowledge as general laboratory technician. 

§   Microbiology training and microbiological testing experience are a plus.

§   Enjoys laboratory work and has good practical laboratory skills.

§   Is a team player

§   Can work both independently and together in teams.

§   Key skills in time management, laboratory test planning, good communication, enthusiasm, creativity, flexibility and initiative

§   Can work quickly and accurately even under tight project deadlines and can do so with a high degree of independence.

§   Has good English writing and speaking capability.
