DSM Resolve’s outstanding eighty-strong team of highly qualified and application oriented experts has built up its expertise by working for a broad range of customers. DSM Resolve has an extensive and up-to-date analytical infrastructure. DSM Resolve offers its high-end skills combined with in-depth application knowledge. Being located at DSM’s knowledge intensive R&D Campus in Geleen (Netherlands), DSM Resolve has direct access to a wide variety of additional expertises. (Associate) Scientist Optical Spectroscopy

The Challenge
As an expert you have the drive to use your knowledge of optical spectroscopy (FTIR, Raman, UV-VIS-NIR, Fluorescence spectroscopy) to turn the questions of your customers into solutions within a team. This is achieved by:

·          Good background in optical spectroscopy and chemistry, knowledge on polymer and/or spectroscopy instrument is a plus.

·          Being able to handle diverse- and multi- experimental tasks independently at her/his level.

·          Bear an intrinsic technical affinity, willing to grow into a “technical Master" in optical spectroscopy.

·          Willing to learn and has the potential to handle diverse- and multi- experimental tasks

·          Responsible and conscientious in work and at ease with deadlines and good time management.

·          Cooperative and team player

·          Plan to stay in the expected position long (grow in technical and/or science axis)

·          Confident with ISO regulations and able to work within this frame

   

The Ideal
You have an HBO degree in analytical chemistry with significant and proven experiences with optical spectroscopy. You have interest and affinity with polymers and/or chemical- and biochemical processes.

Furthermore, you are a self-propelling professional, responsible and responsive, who considers it a challenge to apply your expertise in an industrial context. You have strong analytical skills. You are both a team player, with a team spirit, and able to work on your own. You have excellent communication skills, and you have empathy for the customers’ needs and problems. You have excellent communication skills and a good command of the English language.

Terms and conditions of employment as well as fringe benefits are up to market standards. Salary depends on your education and experience and is based on the local Collective Labor Agreement.
